The next UBCIC Chiefs Council is scheduled for June 3-4, 2009. The meeting will be held in Vancouver, BC at the Holiday Inn and Suites Downtown (1110 Howe Street).

The UBCIC will host an All-Candidates Forum for the AFN National Chief Election on June 4th from 1:00 - 3:00pm. The forum will be available via webcast.

Please refer to the previous Chiefs Council notices which contained a letter from Ardith Walkem with the recent vacancy of the Secretary-Treasurer position of the UBCIC Executive.

The UBCIC will reimburse travel and accommodation costs for the Chief or the Chief's proxy, a proxy template is attached. Please note, according to the Section III (d) of the UBCIC Constitution and Bylaws:

Each Full Member and Active Member of the U.B.C.I.C. present at a General Meeting is entitled to cast a vote on all resolutions. Should a Full Member be unable to attend a General Meeting, the Band may choose someone from the Band to act as a delegate. A delegate must be supplied with proper written credentials consisting of either a copy of a Band Council Resolution, or a letter appointing that person as a delegate in the place and stead of the full member of the U.B.C.I.C.
